<\/a>Prof. Winston Ma, CFA & Esq., <\/span><\/a>is an investor, attorney, author, and adjunct professor in the global AI-digital economy.<\/span><\/a>\u00a0He is a partner of <\/span>Dragon Global, an AI-focused family office<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/a>, and he is also the <\/span><\/a>Executive Director of <\/span>Global Public Investment Funds Forum<\/span><\/a><\/span>\u00a0(GPIFF)<\/span><\/u>\u00a0and <\/a>an <\/span>Adjunct Professor<\/span><\/a><\/span> (on Sovereign Investors)\u00a0at New York University (NYU) School of Law.<\/span><\/p>

Most recently for 10 years, he was Managing Director and Head of North America Office for China Investment Corporation (CIC), China\u2019s sovereign wealth fund. Prior to that, Mr. Ma served as the deputy head of equity capital markets at Barclays Capital, a vice president at J.P. Morgan investment banking, and a corporate lawyer at Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP. He is one of a small number of native Chinese who have worked as investment professionals and practicing capital markets attorneys in both the United States and China.<\/span><\/p>

Mr. Ma has served on the boards of multinational listed and private companies in tech, finance, and natural resources industries. Most recently in 2021-2024, he was the <\/a>board Chairman <\/span>of Nasdaq-listed MCAA, a European tech SPAC<\/span><\/a><\/span> (which entered into a merger with the digital media unit of Football Club Barcelona) and, in 2022-2024, an advisory board member of Capgemini, the global IT consulting giant. In 2020-2022 he was the chairman of advisory board at <\/span>Open Mineral, the first Fintech B2B metal marketplace<\/span><\/a><\/span>. In 2017-2018 he was a board member of Singapore-listed Noble Group (SGX: <\/u><\/span>CGP<\/span><\/a><\/span>).<\/span><\/p>

Formerly a nationally certified Software Programmer, Mr. Ma <\/a>is <\/a>the <\/span>author of<\/span>\u202f<\/span>more than 10 books<\/span><\/a><\/span>\u00a0on SWF funds, digital economy, and global geopolitics, including <\/span>The Hunt for Unicorns<\/span><\/i><\/a><\/span>: How Sovereign Funds are Reshaping Investment in the Digital Economy \u00a0<\/span><\/i>and most recently <\/i>\u201c<\/span><\/a>Blockchain and Web3<\/span><\/i><\/a><\/span>\u201d (among 2024 <\/span>\u201csix must-read blockchain books\u201d by TechTarget<\/span><\/a><\/span>).
